Amateur baseball - Lexington ParkAmateur baseball has been an important part of Saint Paul’s history for nearly a century.  Dozens of Major League Baseball stars, including Dave Winfield, Paul Molitor, Jack Morris, and Joe Mauer, got their start playing baseball on diamonds in Saint Paul.

The city has been the home to a regional Amateur baseball - teamballpark since 1930, beginning with Lexington Park, the original Midway Stadium in the 1950s, and the current Midway Stadium, which was built in 1982.

In addition to hosting professional St. Paul Saints games, the CHS Field will host amateur baseball games for the Minnesota State High School League, Hamline University, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), and American Legion teams.

The state-of-the-art facility will also make it possible for Saint Paul to host national baseball tournaments, such as the American Legion World Series and the NCAA Division II or III Championship.
