Futures North, a collaborative design and build team of Twin Cities artists, is in charge of the public art program for the Lowertown Ballpark. The Futures North team will draw upon the ballpark’s architectural elements as well as the Lowertown neighborhood itself as they work to create the ballpark’s public art component. Their goal is to create an experiential artwork that embraces the experience of attending a baseball game while adding an inspiring presence to the surrounding area.
Futures North will collaborate with the ballpark design team to develop design schemes for the public art installation. General public input on the design schemes will be solicited via the Lowertown Ballpark Design and Construction Committee and online polling that will help guide the final art installation.
Team members Daniel Dean, John Kim, Molly Reichert, and Adam Marcus have broad experience with projects that involve parametric design, digital fabrication technologies, the development of custom technologies for installation and performance, collaboration, and constructing large-scale interior and exterior interactive projects for major museums, gallery spaces, and commission-based public art exhibitions.
